Chocolate Tasting + Intro to Craft Chocolate - Cocoa Runners x Benk + Bodega
We've joined forces with Cocoa Runners to bring you an evening of craft chocolate tasting and an introduction to chocolate making from our Head Chef, Lucy!
Learn the science and art of tasting, how chocolate is grown and crafted and discover the story behind each bar. It’s a fantastic way to learn about chocolate, a fun activity to share with loved ones, and a brilliant excuse to treat yourselves.
The event will run for approx 2 hours. Our bar will be open and snack boards to purchase on the evening, so you can relax in our low lit, plant filled haven post all that chocolate consumption.
*You'll be able to choose from a selection of early 2021 dates, which will be scheduled around attendee availability.
We're a Covid secure venue, and will of course ensure the event follows Covid regulations at that time, which will be communicated with you in advance. Capacity has been planned to allow for social distancing.
Cocoa Runners Mission
A good day is when we savour and enjoy great chocolate. A great day is when we help our members discover, share, savour and enjoy great chocolate
Why Craft Chocolate?
Just as the way grapes are grown and nurtured is critical for the quality of great wine, the same is true for cocoa beans and chocolate. Soil conditions, climate and the care and attention of the farmers and chocolate makers all impact the final product.
The best chocolate often comes from chocolate makers who have a direct relationship with the farmers they buy from. This direct trade also cuts out middlemen and ensures higher payments to cocoa farmers in some of the world’s poorest countries.
The same care and attention to detail also characterises the makers who source these beans and create the bars. Whether they’re working out of a small kitchen or a dedicated factory, all these makers are united in the care and attention they make to creating their chocolate.
